Big Eyes

Today we have watched ‘Big Eyes’ movie which is based, on true story. I really enjoyed it, because Tim Burton is my favorite film director and I think he did a good job. Also, I like bibliographic stories. This movie is about a very talented woman Margaret Keane, she draw  children with very big and deep eyes. Sad story with the happy end , it is sad, but sometimes we meet terrible people, for her it was her husband. 

 He presented her art works as his own. He became very popular, famous and rich and his wife stayed in the shadow all the time. All people can make mistakes  he made them too. As a result they divorced and she proved in the court her rights about paintings. She turned from shy to brave through one movie. 

Today we have watched a video called “MAKER”. Our planet is not frozen and every day many people create something , sometimes you need to do many crazy experiments, before the final product comes out. In this video we heard about how people used to create things in the past and how they make them now, nothing changes except the process, because of technology many things become easy to do. In addition, they mention what will happen in the near future, BUT this is a secret. I was surprised by a little girl, she made me think about how interesting can be creation which you do by yourself. 

 Nowadays, we can buy whatever we want in the shops, but sometimes it is easier and more exciting to create instead of buying it! After this inspiration  video i want to create something ,because it is an enjoyable process and you never get bored with it . ART is everywhere around as from a key ring in your pocket to the plane in the sky, someone created and designed it ,so now we can use it. Creations are everywhere and anything!

CREATIVITY CAN SOLVE ALL PROBLEMS!

Today we have watched a Chase Jarvis talk about: creativity is a new literacy. I think he is definitely right about nowadays situation in the world of education. Today everybody around try to control us. WE DON'T HAVE FREEDOM OF OPINION and we are in a mind 'cage'. We all are born creative but through school years we lose it which is said. I really love one of his expressions ‘Creativity can solve all problems’ because for me it’s right. In Russia schools pupils don't have enough time to express themselves and create something,they use to do homework and listen teacher opinion . Hopefully in the future things will change....

I really enjoyed my first project. First of all it was not boring, all the time we did something different. I was a photographer of our team, I took many pictures of how we have worked and what we were doing. Also, a Tabula Team visited as and has built a small table it was such an interesting process because we were writing our messages on a big wooden pallets which later on going to be inside of Tabula. As a part of presentation we have  visited  Margate. In addition we presented our work in front of an audience it was a bit   stressful for me, but at the same time interesting. 

 I am so happy to be a member of ‘Peace Maker’ group because now I know how to work in a team and also we became closer to each other. I love you guys! Thank you! Through this project I get so many positive emotions!

 

Today I watched such an interesting movie about the Chinese artist Ai Weiwei i like the way he present his work to the people. All his works have the hidden sense…but not everybody understand it!  I decided to choose one of the greatest his work 'Sunflower seeds' deep idea behind it shock me. He and his team did a great preparations before they show it in Tate Modern. The numbers make me crazy the Porcelain seeds of sunflower made manually 10 cm a layer cover the area of 1000 sq.m 100 million of seeds about 150 tons weigh. Each seed is made of pure porcelain manually. Any of seeds not probably on another. Each element was made and painted individually by hands. Over one and a half thousand Chinese workers within 2,5 years worked on an exposition, and all this time information on the project wasn't disclosed. Initially Ai Weiwei decided to make only 3 million seeds, but after understood that it will be insufficiently for full completion of an exposition, and works were continued…

I think that for him his work is something like the revolt against iniquity. Sunflower seeds project trying to show millions of the residents of China similar externally, but different inside. I think Ai Weiwei is a very important person today, because he says what he wants to say he does what he wants to do and he is not scared of what happens next, he is kind of revolution... but any revolution comes to an end.
